Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

Hey guys.

I'm trying to find a schematic for how to wire a switch on my stratocaster. What I want it to do is bypass the volume and tone knobs as well as the pickup selector. Sort of like Tom Anderson's blower switch, only bypassing the volume as well, like I said.

I've been searching for a while, and found one schematic for a push-pull knob. Will this look pretty much the same for an on/on miniswitch? And if not, do any of you have a schematic I could use, or any ideas about how the circuit should look?

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

If you bypass the pickup switch, all pickups will be active at the same time and blasting out the jack.

Is this what you're after or did you want it to be just the bridge pickup?

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

Er... If that's the case, I want just the bridge pickup, then.

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

sounds like you might just want to hook your bridge pickup up to the output jack...
should have plenty of presence
:deal:

or you could go pickup to on/off switch to jack but that somewhat defeats the purpose of gutting a strat.

This should do it.

I did it as H-S-S, but the principle's the same - the Push/Pull (or Push/Push or other DPDT switch) sends the signal to the 5-way switch when in the Down position (normal).
Select any pickup as normal with the 5-way.

Also, the main output is routed to the other half of the DPDT switch, then to the jack in the Down/normal position.

When you pull the knob up, you shunt the main output (5-way, Volume, Tone) to Ground and send the bridge pickup straight to the jack.

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

Cool. My pickup configuration on the guitar in question is HSS (DiMarzio Tone Zone, and two SD Alnico Pro II's), so if this circuit works, then kickass!

In other words: thank you.

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

No problem.

Let me know if it works or not, I've not tested it myself, but it seems ot make sense to me (but then I'm crazy  )

Re: Wiring question, bypassing tone and volume

I'm interested in something similar. I have a 2 humbucker, 1 volume setup. I'd like to wire in a blower switch. Any advice how to do that? I'd like to add a push/pull knob as the switch.
