Wiring question

Im going to rewire a Carvin and noticed that stock, there is a cap running between the vol and tone pots as is normal, but also another cap on the volume pot between 2 lugs.. Is this to bleed off highs or what? There is one on each volume. (axe has to vol and 2 tone)
Thank you!

Re: Wiring question

I can't remember the exact name of that mod, but its to restore highs as you turn down the volume. Its normal. ;)

All of my Peavey's have that mod.

Like shown here:

Re: Wiring question

I think you are talking about a volume kit. It consists of a small cap and resistor that is connected to two lugs on the volume pot that does what ArtieToo said.

Re: Wiring question

Thanks guys! Thats what I thought. Question is, is it neccessary? Some of my axes dont have it. I have to change the pots on this one as the neck pup volume is stuck WFO..

Re: Wiring question

I would try the 50's wiring mod instead, I prefer that to the other types of treble bleed mods I've tried.
