So here's the details and my question:
My main guitar that I use is a Parker Fly Mojo, though I have other guitars I use on a normal basis depending on the gig or the sound I'm after - mainly a Strat, a Tele, and an Ibanez 7-string.
I recently purchased a Legator Ninja 300 8-string. Stock, it has two Legator humbuckers (which I find are seriously lacking), a single tone knob, a single volume knob, and a 3-way switch. The fact that it's an 8-string really shouldn't matter for this question.
I want to try to emulate the Parker's electronics configuration, because I love the way it works for how I play. The Parker has 2 humbuckers (SD JB and Jazz, no middle pickup), a push-pull on the tone knob for coil splitting, and a piezo system. I only coil split them when I want a more Strat or Tele kind of sound, mainly on clean, funky rhythm parts, or when playing blues-type stuff. The piezo is hardly ever used, but it's nice for that off-time when I need an acoustic sound and the acoustic player is playing an electric instead, or to just add a different tonality to a clean sound.
I have already purchased an SD Pegasus and a push-pull pot already to replace the tone pot, and an SD Sentient is on the way (it will be here around early March, since it was custom-ordered from Guitar Center... I should have gone a different route, but too late now). I'm looking to wire it similarly to the Parker Fly - a master volume and a master tone pot, and have the push-pull replacing the tone pot for coil splitting. There's no piezo installed in the Legator, that can be ignored. Again, there's a 3-position switch already installed, and I'd like to continue using that as well. I've grown to dislike 5-way switches, as I tend to simply "slap" the switch into the position I need.
I've done some research, and have found some schematics for wiring this sort of setup, but they all seem to differ on how the wiring is done. I have some basic knowledge of electronics wiring, so I will be wiring it myself, but I'd like to know if anyone has ever attempted this sort of wiring setup, and, if so, if there are any schematics out there for SD pickups?
