So I have this project guitar which I have an idea for, but no idea how to execute it, or if it can even be done. I want this to really be a swiss army knife of a guitar. It's currently got a pickguard routed for HH, but I would like to adjust it to HSH, and here's why. I recently bought a pair of seymour duncan p-rails. I have a wiring diagram that I had planned to use that I'll attach that will allow me to get the most out of them. Now I'm thinking it'd be cool to add a hot rail type of thing that could be wired to function as a single coil or a humbucker in the middle position. In addition I'd love it if I could wire it to a kill switch, so that I can turn it off and on at will without being limited to the options provided by a five way switch. Is this possible? If so, what would the wiring look like, and what would be my best options? I was thinking maybe two spst switches, one for as a coil splitter, and one as an on/off for the pickup. Would I be better off with a push pull(s), or an on type switch for the neck? Again, what would that wiring look like? Or am I ultimately better off just dropping the idea altogether? please advise.
