Wiring questions - My first time

Hi... I've decided that I need to learn to do this, rather than paying people to do it all the time. I have done soldering before when I have made my own cables... and I'm not overly afraid of making mistakes..

Anyway, my questions relate to this diagram, and my selector switch.

Firstly, in the diagram found here: http://guitarelectronics.com/productimage.php?product_id=2440 the mini toggles... I am reading this as the series wiring as toggle up, or the two points at the top of each mini toggle. Is that correct? Because I'd rather have switch down as series.

Secondly, the switch that cam e with my guitar is a 12 point switch.. As can be seen in the diagram here:http://www2.ibanez.com/supportResources/wiring/2007/SZ520FM.pdf

Can anyone tell me how I would sub that in to replace the standard toggle that is in the first diagram?

Thanks for any help

Re: Wiring questions - My first time

I have my on/on/on mini toggles wired that way and series is down.

Just so I am clear... I'm going to ask it differently... On this image... I have highlighted the pins in question... Is this series or parallel?

The highlighted lugs are position 3, parallel coils. Are you using mini-toggles? Or a push-pull potentiometer?

The bottom half of the Ibanez switch appears to be handling pickup selection while the top half is handling the split. So wire the pickups to the mini-toggles like the G.E. drawing before hitting the volume pots, and keep only the bottom half of the Ibanez switch as-is in the other drawing.

Before getting out the solder iron, I would test it using alligator clip wires to make sure it does what you think. Also, wouldn't hurt for a second pair of eyes to read those drawings and check what I said is correct.

Mini toggles...

My original thought was that yes, that was parallel... because of how it was labeled just below... just wanted to make sure what their positions 1, 2, 3 were. They might have meant position 1 was the one highlighted...

Thanks

So I have just found this picture, confirming how the Ibanez switch works in middle position (the one on the right)

Re: Wiring questions - My first time

Actually... I have just released I have nothing connecting the switch to ground...

The only diagrams I can find for this switch are for when there is a coil split... which is the only reason you'd use this over another..

Anyway, any help appreciated.
