Hello, I have an Ibanez RG270 DX guitar, and my bridge pickup has gone out. I purchased a Seymour Duncan Invader humbucker, but I am having a problem wiring it. The stock pickup on had three wires, bare, red and white. The new one has four, red, white, black and green. I know that bare and green are grounds, no issue there. I read that supposedly the red and white wires on the new pickup should be wired together, but should they connect where the old red one did, or the white? And what about the black wire, where should it go? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
On the Duncan, the red and white should attach together, and go to where the red wire went on the Ibby.
The black on the Duncan should go to where the white went on the Ibby.

btw - Just to double-check, can you tell me what year your 270 was made?
(That should be correct. The only DX model I see was made in 1996.)

well, it works, but it sounds just like my old pickup did, which is really tinny, and the middle strings sound like they are touching something when I palm mute them, but they are not, so I guess the pickup wasnt the problem, after all. Thanks for the help, anyways.
