I have a strat copy that i put a SH-13 and a Lil' 59 not too long ago.
Since im new to this sort of thing, i got mixed up with the wiring and i have a few questions (and pictures) for you guys.
I can't get the pictures straight away, but I will soon.
In the mean time, let me try to describe my problem.
Guitar is a strat copy with two humbuckers, one full size and one single coil size, 1 volume, two tones, 5 way pickup switch & one mini-toggle.
First, i assumed that since i am left handed, the pots should be wired upside down. By that i mean that the black wire (would that be the lead?), if you look at an SD diagram, instead of being soldered to the right of pot is wired to the left of it. Is that the right way to get that done?
Next, connecting the pots to the selector switch. This is a 5 way fender style switch with 8 little points on the other side of the pickguard that you can solder on (btw: dont 3 position selector switches have the same number of little points? just checking).
I soldered the wire coming from the volume to the two middle points, and the wires coming from each of the tone pots to the two extreme points.
To put it short, if the little solder points were numbered from one to eight, 1=tone pot, 4+5=volume pot, 8=tone pot, 2+3+6+7 having nothing attached.
Im kinda sure this is where my problem is coming from, so could someone tell me where i should solder the various wires?
Finally, my last question is about the mini toggle.
I want to be able to split both humbuckers at the same time with the same switch, so that in one position ill have both humbuckers split and in the other position all four coils activated.
And at this point, i have four wires, two of them white and two of them red and three points on the mini toggle to solder them to. I'm pretty sure the middle point on the toggle goes to the ground, but then i don't know what to do with the rest.
Thanks a lot if you read this through or even if you were remotely interested, but this seems like a simple problem to me and i have no idea how to solve it, making an otherwise good guitar useless.
So thanks to everybody who reads this, and thanks to anybody who will answer (and if you do, please speak as you would to 5 year-old...im pretty clueless about this stuff).
