Wiring RWRP SD pickup, and potting vintage?

Hey all,

I have a set of single coils ready to install in a strat, and am a little unsure of how to wire the RWRP middle pickup and the bridge pickup.

Vintage flat strat at the neck (SSL-2 - all good on this one)

Vintage flat strat RWRP (SSL-2 rwrp) in the middle - I assume I still mount it with the 'triangular' piece of the baseplate facing the bridge, which means the wire and black wire are on opposite sides than the neck pickup. Do I still connect white and black wires as per the wiring diagram?

custom flat strat (SSL-6) at the bridge. This one has no triangular baseplate, and the black/white wires come out of opposite ends. Do I simply mount it by matching the white wire to the same side as the white wire on my neck pickup which has the triangular baseplate?

Last question - I'm using solid covers and the coil wiring seems very exposed/fragile. It's my understanding that these pickups are not wax potted because they're vintage reproductions. Would I have anything to gain/lose by wax potting them in the solid covers to ensure nothing gets damaged?

thank you very much

You wire the middle pickup the same as the rest. So white is hot on all of them. Don’t worry about which way it’s facing.

right, physical orientation has nothing to do with polarity
