Wish I saw this

Re: Wish I saw this

That has to be the best yamaha I've ever seen but it's needs a ton of work. Just to reset the neck and replace the bridge is gonna be a lot $$$$.

Re: Wish I saw this

You got the dough to sling around for a neck reset, setup, new bridge, etc? Even then, it'd top out at less than a grand all together, that's not bad.

You might want to scour ebay, especially ebay Japan...I'm sure one will pop up.

Re: Wish I saw this

Well I guess I'm somewhat alone on this one.

These are handmade guitars that are on a completely different level than the ones you see floating around for a few hundred dollars. The woods are all solid and the guitars were made by top notch luthiers (they each have the signature of Yamaha's top luthier on the wood inside the soundhole). These go for $3-4k in japan and are almost non existent in america.

Because I play a lot of slide, I can work with guitars that have some problems. I would have eventually saved up the money and sent it somewhere like hoffman guitars, but I suppose I should let bygones be bygones.

Re: Wish I saw this

man, that Yamaha looks really nice! my uncle has a C40 from the late 80s, which still plays and sounds better than the new ones in the market.
