Re: WIth Pickguard or without, need to decide

I hate pick guards, I think 99% of guitars look better without them.

That's my opinion, if anyone cared.

Re: WIth Pickguard or without, need to decide

Yes, the guitars look great, hence my indecision.

And yes, that Schaller(?) trem is clean, but I don't mind the Gotoh Floyd with the whale tail, not to mention the Schaller isn't an option. Guess I'm missing the point of posting that here.

Is this more to your liking? Wilkinson 300 series trem, but not sure if the fretboard is pau ferro or rosewood, and I'm not dealing with CITES, tried to figure it out for a guitar in the Netherlands and gave up.

I like the body grain on this one

I have issues with feelings of guilt.

I wouldn't mind the others if they were just alder, I really don't care about the lam tops.

I generally dislike pickguards but in this case I think it works. I vote yes pickguard. [emoji106]

Re: WIth Pickguard or without, need to decide

I ordered one, although neither of the ones I originally posted. The blue one has some weird glue marks where the fretboard is joined to the neck and since I'm ordering from Japan, I want to stick to a recognized music store, not a seller whose feedback is mostly for whet stones, collagen powder sticks(?), or marked private.

So it was down to Kinko Music new one or a used, yet minty new version (a few small scratches in the clear on the back) from Ishibashi, so I went with the Ishibashi and saved ~$300. Should be here in 2 weeks, hopefully less.

I wanted green or purple, but couldn't find as good deals on them, especially not in the same condition and I was trying to stick to a limited budget. And, you can't go wrong with black!
