WLH set w/JP wiring harness.

Hey everybody. Just purchased a WLH set along with the JP wiring harness. Same price with or without the harness, so why not. Going to put'em in my Goldtop LP. Was curious if anyone has any experience with the pups and wiring, or just the JP wiring. Kinda looking forward to having a guitar with 21 tonal options! Thanks in advance. :headbang:

Re: WLH set w/JP wiring harness.

I have experience with the pickups, but not the wiring. I have experimented a lot with series/parallel/split etc, and then just hardwired the sounds that were the best and most unique to me. I hate having to search for a sound or having to do 2 or more moves to get to a sound. I really like.

Re: WLH set w/JP wiring harness.

I had the WLH in my SG with JP wiring for over a year. I did the full 6-switch version. It was excellent and the most versatile Gibson I've ever had. I've also done more than a dozen variations/revisions to the JP wiring to decide what I wanted in mine. It's a lot of fun.

Thanks! I'm really excited to install the pups and harness. JP is my biggest influence. A genius. Just hoping to get a glimmer of "that" tone. What did you find to be your favorite settings? Most useful? You mentioned the SG in the past tense. Is she gone? Thanks for you response.

Peace,

Darrin

I have the SG. Gigged with it last weekend. The wiring and pickups came out because after a year of gigs switches started to fail.

I tended to keep the neck in parallel coil mode a lot or split, and particularly when mixed with the bridge. Always used the bridge as a full humbucker. It might as well have been 2-conductor, it's that good. It's Pearly Gates/Saturday Night Special/Angus all rolled into one.
