Haha, well, lots of those same Bassman combos are going for under $300 on Ebay. 4x10's and 2x10's anyway :)

Beandip you can come over if you don't get lost in the mail ;) Ok ok, that made no sense, but I wonder where those pots you tried to send me ended up? Maybe some guitar-playing mailman snatched them? Hahah, I'm gonna scrounge up like $20 this week and get some CTS pots so I can rewire my Ibanez SA and play through my new BASSMAN! WOOHOO!!! :)

I hate to tell you this...a Bassman Ten has 4 10 inch speakers...not 12's. Also, THAT bassman was NOT made for bass, it was made from the ground up to be played with a guitar. All in all it is a cool amp, well worth $350.00 assuming that shipping doesn't kill you!

Hmm, the description says four 12 inch speakers. Bah, I'd be happy either way! I'm probably gonna throw some Eminence speakers in there when I get the $$$. I believe my Carvin has one 10" speaker and I love its tone, so 4x the sweetness :D.

HAHAHAHA....I have girly man hands too, so don't sweat it!

I'm guessing it's a 4x10 too....not that that matters. My Mesa/Boogie Blue Angel is a 4x10 & it's a bada$$ tone machine !!!

yeah, it always feels like a win to me to pay just a bit more than what the next guy offered, yet alot less than i would have to pay in a store or online shopping ... it is obviously 'purchasing'

but what do i know?

It's been a long time since I was in a vintage shop and plugged into one of those.
It would be interesting to use that amp to mess with. I'd probably bias it with Svetlana 6L6's, and pop in some new pre tubes. Maybe change the speakers and see if the circuit is easy to work on, meaning you could talk to a knowledgable amp tech and get tips for making it sound better. Nothing wrong with leaving it alone, but I have a feeling you could get it sounding better than the tweed bassman reissues, if it doesn't already.

Yeah, I'll probably put in EH's because they're my favorite brand. Speakers are questionable, I'll have to see if I like it stock.

nah, get some NOS phillips tubes

if you wanna hear what it sounds like, listen to 60 years by setzer

he also changed out the speakers but you'll get a good idea

also, let us know what attenuator works well with them, a cranked bassman is so beautiful, i'd hate to ruin the tone with a bad attenuator
