If you built a see through plexi glass amp that board would look quite cool I think... but maybe a litttle overkill after all

Ah yes, the famous amp referred to on that site is the dumble. A pparently Alexander dumble used rosewood for some of his boards.

I think I'll stick with phenolic. Wood is susceptible to moisture. Moisture + Electronics = You do the math.:17:

What about if something shorts out heats up alot and the wood ignites? It could happen couldn't it

That is a nice idea, and the first thing I thought was that would be better off made with Formica (as the link mentions in disappointment).
All I can say is, is that a fella with that much time and money on his hands, might be better of worrying if the trophy wife is banging the pool-boy.:naughty:

Man that's a KILLER!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... sorry guys, can't stop laughing at this reply... just imagining Imp sittin there running hot solder through the grooves in a block of Dairy Milk!!! Ha ha ha ha ha .... then maybe just whacking some EL34's in the block of choc!! Surely this amp would give you the creamiest sound ever? :laugh2::biglaugh:... Sorry.
plus if your circuit board gets too dry it can crack with all that heat around.. lol
