And while those fretboard stickers are inexpensive, especially compared to the cost of intricate inlays, they do look nice once applied.

There is no way i am putting any stickers on my fretboards. I have a friend who purchased 11 sets one for every one of his guitars. When i saw them i was just amazed at how cheap they looked.

A buddy of mine uses an epoxy compound that he mixes with ground up MOP.
He does the inlay carving, puts in the mix and levels the board out.
He gets some really cool designs, (wish I had kept the pics he sent me) and can work fairly fast.
