Woody SC or HC to get?

Hey folks,

I'm considering to buy either a woody SC or HC pickup but I'm not sure how big the difference between both of them is. I need a full, round tone which doesn end up in a bassy mud. My acoustic sounds balanced and sweet so I would like to transmit it to a amp ;) Probably I will use a AER acoustic guitar amp which my singer has and we want to play some club gigs in near future. Need your 2 cents on this one. Thanks in advance!

Re: Woody SC or HC to get?

With the HC you get hum cancelling and it's only $10 more. I personally would get the XL to get the adjustable pole pieces in addition to hum cancelling. Yes, it's $20 more than the SC, but if you consider you'll get at least 10-20 years out of it, that's only an extra $1-2 per year...really minimal/next-to-nothing cost but you get very usable extra performance out of it.

Thanks, that's a good point! Gonna go for the XL which I neglected somehow.

Good choice. I've never had one, but have heard a lot about it and am considering the XL myself.
