Quite possibly the sexiest guitars in all of rock and metal.

Post up your love for the V

I had one hell of a Dean V at one time. It was made in their Custom Shop and had a custom inlay. But I am not a big guy and it looked ridiculous when I used it.

I don't own a V, but I've always liked them and it would be cool to have one someday. I prefer the OG Gibson design to the pointier ones. Really like that natural finish on your new one.

The reverse V looks dumb and I hate it, but it could be worse... it could be a reverse Explorer.

I love V's. Don't have one but I do like them and they look good on me being 6'3". I think I need to rectify that. Aside from the Gibson Flying V (or an Epiphone - their V is killer too), the Jackson King V is the only other one I'd consider.

Man, those Dean headstocks. I know it's just a matter of taste, but they really do look like the manufacturer bludgeoned someone to death with them and just left the head indent as is.

No shade intended. If you like 'em, you like 'em.

I've owned a couple of the king V"s and I'd just say that the bc rich plays a whole lot better than my Jackson's did. No shade on Jackson, I've always loved them.

V's are my all-time favorite style of guitar. But, you know why I don't own any of the ones like 80's Metal has in his stable? No forearm contour.

Seriously, in 2025, guitar manufacturers still refuse to do the one thing that would make a "V" (and guitars like the Explorer) SO much better!

ESP does it for their Killer KG "Wishbone" V's and it's perfect, but I don't want another Floyd guitar.

This should be a standard feature on ALL V's that aren't vintage reissues, IMO! Gibson needs to get their act together :)

^That is a smart design, and I am surprised no one else either does it currently or has done it in the past.

I will not buy a guitar now unless it has some kind of forearm scoop or contour. My LTD EC-1000 and my Les Paul both lack those contours, and as much as I love both of 'em, my arm feels the difference every time I play.

The Jackson RR and King V have a small bevel that helps a tiny bit.
The Dean Tyrant has a small bevel on the edge too.
The ESP arrow has a somewhat larger bevel fwiw.

It's not a full scooped contour, but it's something.

I have a Jackson Rhoads and the edge bevel, though small, makes a huge difference. I've also had an ESP Arrow and a KH-V. Both were plenty comfortable.

I just imagine that the Killer KG style bevel on a more traditional "Flying V" shape would be perfect!

I probably would have kept my Schecter V-1 Custom, which has a more traditional "Flying V" shape, if it had at least a little forearm bevel, but the sharp edge drove me nuts!
