Worst Effect You've Ever Heard/Tried?

Re: Worst Effect You've Ever Heard/Tried?

Boss XT-2 Xtortion.....was such a horrible distortion. One of my students wanted to sell it for $20, no one wanted it, I decided it was so bad I'd take it from him and keep it just as a conversation piece.

Do you have Zoom pedals in America? If not then at least the British guys here will know what I'm talking about. The first multi-effects I owned was a Zoom 505 which I bought off a mate for £20, some mate he turned out to be! I've still got it and I've found a use for it finally. Every time I get a little down about the sounds I'm getting form my pedals or amp, I plug this thing in and play for a while. Then when I can't stand anymore I take it out of my chain and all of a sudden my pedals sound awesome! Thanks Zoom. I suppose if you look at it this way, my Zoom pedal does more to improve my sound than any of my other pedals, in a twisted, reletive kinda way. Wierd how things work out, eh?

Hmmmm.... comes down to the MXR Double Shot or Boss AC-2 for me. The Double Shot was muddy and EQ'd weird with a noticeable hiss in the background. The AC-2 did a pretty decent piezo emulation, but the overall noise when it was engaged was too much to be useful.

I had a Denelectro reverb pedal that was just god-awful.

I grabbed it in a rush for some amp that I was using as a backup for a rehearsal. Bummed me out...I couldn't even return it per the shops policy.
