Worst pedals ever

More low-end, maybe. It's not got any more gain. It's pretty much a direct clone except for like two components. I've had them both side by side.

The Wylde Overdrive is my favorite boost for high-gain amps. Not just Marshalls, but it's got a slight dip in the lower mids (compared to a Tube Screamer) which makes it sound clearer and more aggressive.

It's kinda noisy, though.

I think it was too much for me, it didn't seem to make anything cleaner, just noisy and shrill.

My 1st distortion pedal was the Rocktek Distortion DIR-01 (exactly like the one pictured). Think I payed $20 new for it. That thing was awful, Just a thin tin can Buzzsaw distortion. I kept it for like 25 years or so because I felt like I needed to keep it away from the rest of the world. I finally donated it, still brand new looking in the box. I replaced it shortly after getting it with a Ibanez CM-5 Classic Metal Soundtank. It was a big improvement.

Ugh.

YES! DOD should re-issue this, but completely redesigned. The form factor was cool but it sounded like poo.

Well, my Mosky BP Booster really disappointed. May be redeemed by messing with internals...we'll see.

Of all Distortions, MXR D+ has never gotten any love from me. Any version.

And I'm gonna say it: MXR Phase 90. Harsh phase, one control - EFF that!

My first pedal was a Morley PDW (Wah, dist., volume). I bought it for 100 bucks from MF or America Musical I think, in 1993, pre internet. It sucked bad - wah wasn't sensitive, distortion lacking in gain, and the optical sensor failed in 3 years just after the warranty expired. I never consider Morley ever since.

Let me guess, block logo version? That one is harsh. Too "in your face". The Script logo Phase 90 is smoother and warmer than the block logo version. I don't care for the block version either.

Yep. I also have a script style Behringer and my VFE Enterprise. I think I'm really a Phase 45 guy at heart. If I'm as phase guy at all. But the standard Phase 90? Hard pass.

You need to try the real Custom Shop script Phase 90. It'll change your mind. If I didn't have the MXR, I'd get the Whirlwind Orange Box again. Same circuit as the MXR, built by the folks who started MXR back in the day. Plus the Orange Box has a DC jack and LED.
