Worst pedals ever

The Rocktek's were all plastic as well, at least the series like pictured was. And, it says a lot when the Ibanez Classic Metal Soundtank was a big improvement (since people seem to hate on it anyways). I had the Soundtank for about 6 years before someone stole it from me. Durability was never an issue and it was tossed around a lot with no pedalboard since it was my only pedal at the time and I took it everywhere. I actually really like the Classic Metal though and it pissed me off when it disappeared.

Mine was exactly like this one.

I had Classic Metal pedal too. I liked but I sold it along with my other Soundtank pedals. I wish they would reissue those. Maybe in a more durable case, though I never broke one of those pedals.

i had the powerlead and in the store is sounded AWESOME! it sounded ok at home but i liked the boss sd1 better through my jcm800 so eventually gave it away or threw it at someone

I thought the switch put it in Classic Overdrive mode.

I tried to see if the internet could tell me one way or the other, and there doesn't seem to be a consensus. I thought there was an etching on the PCB that says, but I don't think it's worth the time to take it apart to find out, when I know I like the pedal in the non-Zakk-Wylde mode better.

The 70-s era AC-powered Morley pedals were....really strange. I remember the one with the pick connected to the pedal via a wire to trigger an envelope filter. It sounded like something was really broken.

The second pedal I ever owned was a CS5. I wish Ibanez would reissue them Waza-style, with re-engineered lower-noise circuits, upgraded buffers, military-grade switches, and tighter-tolerance parts, in stainless steel enclosures, and made in Japan, but still cute and little like that.

Are you familiar with the Guyatone micro series? They were pretty much that.

When it comes to worst pedal ever,

I think it has to be the original Klon Centaur.

Actually heard and got close on a real one;
... sounded the same as any other, similar OD pedal. But the price and "mojo" is just... "Merde de' Artiste" :D

The Guyatone mini tuner pedal is legit. The only tuner pedal I've used that is visible in direct Florida sunlight. And mine is still going strong.

a few friends of mine have real klons. i think they are great pedals! i think my buddy joe got his for like $229 or $249 new. the prices are just stupid, have been even stupider, but they were never more than a few hundred $ new.

okay, that I didn't know! :o

I expected the new-price to be almost the same, as what they cost today.

thanks for the clarification. :)

Mine would be the BBE AM-64 American Metal Distortion pedal. Through my DeVille it sounded like straight mud no matter how I tweaked it. Granted, I had also just gotten a Visual Sounds Route 66 that sounded killer so that probably played into why I didn't like the BBE. Silver lining, I had bought it on clearance and auctioned it on eBay for more than I paid for it.

There are a number of very convincing micro-clones available for as little as $20 new.

The worst pedal of all, by far, is the one that sits and collects dust because you never use it.

Sell that puppy.

It's both!! The GT-OD and the Classic Overdrive are the exact same circuit. All 3 pedals (Zacg Wylde, GT-OD, and Classic Overdrive) have that same switch.
And yes, in Wylde mode it sounds absolutely horrible with my amp. I tried it twice and both times switched it back to GT/Classic mode within a couple minutes.

The ART X-15 clown vomit midi pedal. It could only control 1 midi channel (1 device), it was way too big, and the expression pedals moved in 'steps' rather than continuous control. Also, bright lights confused the light sensors in the pedals.
