Would a dimarzio VVsolo go well in the neck?...with a JB in bridge?

Okay so its about dimarzio pickups too but i trust guys on here more than anywhere else on the net so ill pitch my question to you ;)

Ive got my warmoth strat and i love it but the bridge by itself sounds pretty crap...its got a dimarzio virtual vintage solo in the bridge and then virtual vintage blues in the neck and middle. I have a duncan nickel covered JB that i want to put in the bridge and although i am happy with the neck tone i get from the vv blues currently in there i was worried that the output might be too different and that maybe i should put something stronger in the neck.

So i was thinking about just chucking the virtual vintage solo in the neck of it, leaving the virtual vintage blues in the middle, and having the JB in the bridge. Do you guys think this would be neccessary or should the neck vv blues stack up to the bridge JB output wise so long as i didnt have it too close to the strings?

By the way...its a full size JB humbucker, not a single sized one...im going to have to get another pickguard.

Take what I say with a grain of slat because I've only compared the VV's with a JB Jr.

I installed a JB Jr into the bridge slot of my friends EBMM Albert Lee. I wired it in normal 'bucker operation and a push/pull pot for series/parallel switching. We also chucked the middle pickup and wired two pickups to a tele style 3 way.

Initially, he wanted a Fast Track 1 in the neck. Tonally, it worked with the JB but it didn't have enough output.

We then installed the VV Blues. Tonally, it works beautifully with the JB Jr. It's full and throaty with plenty of strat chime. Outputwise it's great too with nary a volume difference when running the JB in series and no volume difference when the JB is in parallel.

I think you'll do OK with the Blues in the neck.

I used the Virtual 2's with a JB and liked it. Never tried the ones you mentioned though

What type of wood is the body and what are you plugging this guitar into? Interesting that you don’t like the sound of the virtual vintage solo in the bridge, as that’s the pickup that I’m going to replace my strat (alder) bridge pickup with.

Its an alder body and its going into a few different amps...mainly though an ENGL high gain situation where i need the bridge to cope with lots of palm muting chunk...and it just lacks a lot when you go palm muting cos it still sounds like a strat single coil a bit and just has zero chunk!
