body is mahagony so lots of mids ,the maple top/neck and ebony board should brighten it up. i don't think it would sound shrill given the woods but if the guitar is really thin and light it could still be.

I personally wouldn't do it....
Maple top=bright ....enhanced highs/high mids
Maple Neck =more bright
Ebony Board= even more bright (compared to rosewood)
JB= enhanced high mids, highs, little bass or low mids...
in combo..oooo boy...you'll cut through the mix!
and alot of eardrums

No it will not sound "shrill"...I don't think "shrill" is the right word.
The upper mids of the JB might be a little penetrating for "at home" use but onstage it would probably be great. You should try it and see for yourself. If you're really worried about that set up being to bright then go for a set of alnico 2 humbuckers like the Alnico 2 Pro neck and a Custom Custom bridge. Lots of mids and smooth highs. Lew

your bridge pickup tone will definately be biased towards the upper mids and your neck pickup will be very glassy. Not a bad thing, if that's what you want. In a guitar like that I would personally go with a Pearly Gates in the neck and a C5 in the bridge.That combo will be a bit thicker (in the neck) and will have rolled back highs and bigger lows in the bridge..

Hmm, well, actually the problem is I've already ordered a guitar like that..But I heard some clips with that kind of guitar, and the same pickups, the only difference was that the guitar in the clips didn't have a maple top..and I liked those clips very much..So does the maple top add MUCH brightness??
