I see they're going for $500-$600+.... But would the paint and hacked up pickguard decrease its value by much? If I buy it, I'll play it, but if I decide to sell it down the road, I'd like to know if I could make money on it.

Great price and cool paint. I'd leave it alone and enjoy it.

There's a lot you could do with it. Google search for people that have modded theirs, replaced the neck, etc.
