Would you buy this pickup?

I'm wondering, if I were to buy this DiMarzio, I don't know if it's worth it or if I'm just asking for trouble. The leads were apparently cut short before, but have been extended to fit in the middle position of a Strat. I can get this thing pretty cheap, but the look of the leads is a bit off-putting to me. Then again, maybe I shouldn't be so pretentious because nobody sees the wires once it's installed. What do you guys think?

Am I seeing 4 leads and a ground wire coming out? It looks like the black wire is cut very short.

The black wire doesn't have the extension, all the others do.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I think I still have some small gauge wire at the house, so it probably won't be a big deal.

If you have the soldering skills to install that pickup, you also have the skills to fit a brand new 4-con + shield output cable.

If you have any trouble with it cut the leads where the extensions are now & re-extend it yourself. It's going to be fine & if it doesn't work he's got to give you a refund unless it was listed as "For parts/Not working"?

He had it listed as "works well" and it was sold on Reverb, so if there's any major problem, they will probably help me deal with it.

With a multimeter check leads for continuity.

Got the pickup in the mail yesterday, got my new 4-conductor+ground wire today, just soldered it in, and it checks out on the multimeter just the same as before. About 5.8 Kohms, which is just .2 below factory spec. Pretty decent! Got it on the first try! I'm getting better at this! Lol

Yep. Ended up costing me $35 shipped, plus about $6 worth of 4-conductor lead. Not bad at all!
