Swap some El34s for the 6L6's if ya want more "british" vibe out of the Rectoverb.
And as others stated, easy on the gain, and don't scoop those mids.

Soldano is a different breed. Yes my Lucky 13 has a modern-voiced OD channel (with the best clean channel I've heard so far) but I wouldn't say it is voiced for modern metal. My impression so far is that Soldano is about super LEAD overdrive tone (so called SLO), not necessary the modern metal riff tone.the_Chris said:brisk, if you want modern distortion, you can't really get much better than a Mesa.
