Would you recommend the Twang Banger for slide?

Guess it's just GAS, but I'd like to try something new in the bridge of my Strat. Got a Lil 59 (neck version) there now which I'm happy about. But you know. Experimenting is fun.

I don't use the bridge much on its own, but when I do, I like it to sound good for clean and overdriven tones (never any heavier types of tones), and I want it to work well for slide (Cooderesque). I was actually considering installing a lapsteel pickup or a broadcaster pickup, but the Twang banger will give me less hassle.

Any thoughts? (In a different thread I asked about a good clear humbucker for the bridge, so that is also an option. The Screamin Demon looks interesting.)

I'm installing a Screaming demon this weekend. So Im with you on that idea. Have you ever heard the pickups from Rio Grande? I have a Halfbreed low/wind in a strat. When split it sounds more twangy than my teles. I also have a Muy Grande that sounds pretty good in a tele. Both guitars have Seymour's in the neck positions. Rios aren't as smooth or full as Seymour's but they have cool bite to their tone. It really depends on the sound your looking for. I use my Rios to get a rockabilly sound but I can flip over to a more stable sound with my Duncan's. On a cheaper note, Kent Armstrong pickups are really cool and inexpensive. I have a tele with Lollars and at times I dig my Kent Armstrong tele more.

i use a twangbanger in the bridge of a strat and i think it sounds great for slide. that guitar has a master tone control so i can roll off a little high end if i want to get a fatter sound but wide open it sounds great

Thanks for the input so far. Today, I came across a Duncan Broadcaster STL-1b pickup at a good price, so got that one. Apart from the installation hassle, I think it will match well with the other pickups, APS-2 middle and Fender Nocaster neck.
