Would you trade an ENGL Savage 120 rig for a Mesa Dual Rect. rig?

I'm trying to sell my ENGL Savage 120 and it's matching quadbox, and someone was wondering if I would consider swapping him for his Mesa Dual Rectifier Solo Head and matching Mesa quadbox (same vintage 30 speakers as in the ENGL) if I thought I might have better luck selling the Mesa stuff. He offered it because he wouldn't mind having something a little less common like an ENGL rig and that he thought I might have better luck selling the Mesa rig. They would probably be the same in value but I was just wondering what those Mesa Dual Rectifiers were actually like because I've never really taken much notice of them?

Would you swap?

In a heartbeat !!! Mesa people don't know it yet, but the are already on the same road Marshall got on in the early nineties.

Spend a few hours with a Dual Recto before you make the decision. They're a pain in the ass to dial in, but once you do.... :D

i had a engl powerball i sold it and got a dual recto and couldn't be happier. i liked the engl but it wasn't me i guess you can say. as i'm sure you've heard others say (not in this thread, just in general) there's a reason so many people use dual (or triple) rectos live and in the studio when they could use whatever they want....they sound damn good!!

If the aim of the game is selling, then do the swap. The rectum will be easier to sell for sure.

Personally I've only ever heard one recto sound good, and that was in a one-guitar band. All other times I've heard them they've been in dual guitar bands and they always sound like background noise to me.

I like the dual recto...what is the resale value for each of them down under? It may be a nice option if you make $ and try out another amp...

Yeah the aim of the game is selling here, although selling the ENGL cab would be no worries as I've already had heaps of offers on that alone. I've put a deposit down on a SLO so I'm not going to keep the ENGL or the Mesa if I do swap them, but I thought it might be cool to try out another big name amp in the meantime and might be easier to sell. The resale value of each rig would be about the same, although more people have heard of Mesas. There are a lot more Mesas out there though and always ones up for sale second hand so I would have thought that the ENGL rig would be easier to sell seeing as there are hardly any of them ever up for sale.
