Happened to walk into a guitar shop today that I normally stay far away from as I find the owners to be your typical "rude old people" that are angry with kids these days and their music (even though they're the ones keeping them in business), and also because they generally have nothing good there. Well, while on break from work today I stopped by with a co-worker of mine.... and the last statement I made about this particular store was proven way wrong.
Hung up and hidden in the corner they had an Ibanez Destroyer II. Flame maple top, MOP block inlays with the abalone centers, gold hardware, etc. Oh wait, did I forget to mention that it was N.O.S.?!?!? Yes, that's right. It has never been sold. This thing was *pristine*. I was amazed. It was so clean that I had to ask them if it was a reissue. I cannot beggin to explain how shocked I was about this guitar. So I think I may know what I'm saving my pennies for.
One quick question though: Anyone know if they did make a reissue of those guitars? I don't think they'd blatantly lie about it but you never know. I didn't get a chance to pull it down cause they only let you play it or hold it when the manager is there and the closest I could get to it was about 10 feet away. I also want to get the serial number so I can check and see if it's legit. Pretty crazy though, eh?
