I like my steel wirething. The little scratch you hear with every stroke sounds great with distortion.

And I find them about the best thing ive ever had for speed picking and lead riffs. They are also amazing for rythm.

I really wana try the stylus picks tho!

That's what I use for electric. They're called Dunlop Stubby Jazz. I use the 3mm, which are the darker purple ones.

I like those as well except I use the thinner clear dunlops. same design and size just a little more give. they sound very nice with a strat. :beerchug:

This pick is a dream come true for me. I used to get a dunlop tortex and rub very hard the bigger end of the pick on a sand paper , and also the sides , to get a smaller size which fits my gripping finger well. Normal size pick just makes my playing sloppy and inaccurate.....

i've used jazz III's for the past year and a half or so, and i love them. but i keep losing the damn things. i don't know where the heck those buggers go, but they just disappear.

time to buy more.

I like small picks ok for especially hard leadwork but for the most part I can get around best with a normal size pick. If I need to be more accurate I just grip it closer to the tip. I use the yellow tortex picks.

Thanks for the reccommendation, Nuntius. I'll order a set of those and some of the Tortex Jazz's next time I order strings.

I used to use Jazz IIIs, but at some point I tried Tortex, settled on 1.14mm, and haven´t looked back since

In the studio I´ll usually try a few different picks before I even think about tweaking the EQ, btw...that´s how much of a difference the pick can make :saeek:

If you like 1.14's and Dunlop stuff, you should really try out the Ultex. I haven't been able to find a better pick yet :fing2:

i quite like the totex jazz black golds in 0.73mm. They are cool for everything alittle more calm.

I've been using the Jazz III's for over 10 years. I prefer the red material over the black more slippery stuff. Withy this type of pick of you have crappy technique it won't work. If you have your picking together though you'll get more articiulation and pick attack on rhythm or lead with the pointy tip.

hmmm...i'm gonna have to get some of these and try em' out!

i normally use either a nylon .88 or 1.0 ?!
