Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

Pretty nice, but I'll bet you can do better for 1500.

Keep your eyes peeled my friend!

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

haha, i'm not buying one any time soon, i was just looking at strats and that was in the featured items. i really want a strat, i'll get one sometime next year. idk whether i should build a warmoth or get an american strat... they're about the same in price range. tho with a warmoth i could get exactly what i want...

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

Well, if it makes you feel better, My buddy's CS '59 strat played the same as my other buddy's stock am std. I mean there was a little more glitz and cool factor-killer birdseye neck, but in the end you want it to sound great.

I'd go mexi and duncanize it, or warmoth.

The only reason to go CS or am std is to keep resale values a bit higher...

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

god thats a great lookin strat but, that guitar is the same price as the new one on music123.com plus a 100 bucks

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

HOLY CRAP THATS BEAUTIFUL!!!!

And i never go nuts over a strat, but that made my jaw drop! I want one!!!

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

yeah, my mim strat plays better than any american or vintage strat ive played.

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

I like the neck on it....other than that, I don't really see anything special about it.

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

Birdseye IS the sheeiot! It's a shame someone decided to slap on a tacky gold pickguard, though.

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

i actually like the black body gold pickguard thing on THIS guitar

I second that. If you look hard enough you can find a Grosh Bent Top Custom for around 1300 used. If you like strats, that guitar will give you a run for your money. Better than any Anderson, or Suhr I've played (although both those companies make great stuff too).

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

Shes pretty cool, but I think i'd prefer the Clapton with the 25 db boost built in. Gotta love the Clapton man! I played it in the store and it had the WHITEST Byatch of a neck i've ever seen!!! It also had this deep silver coat with a tad of sparkle to it - a very noble color - fell in love with that guitar.

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

FWIW - that guy not only sells some great stuff but also puts together great guitars as well. He is a genuinely nice guy and I was going to have him build me a strat but unfortunately I have decided to get something else.

That one featured is really very nice and is very nice I just wished I could get the okay on it as I would jump on it. You will find that most people usually buy from Pat (Mead) and are very satisfied.

Re: Wow... this strat IS a bueaty!!!

looks nice...
but didn't like the color / wood of the neck /headstock

nice guitar, crappy pickups ;)

That's what I was thinking too. Actually those noiseless pups are okay but they lack the mojo of the new samarium cobalt noiseless pups.

Although if you're after a custom shop-quality Fender at a reasonable price, plus great pups and S-1 switching, I really can't say enough good things about their 2004 American Deluxe line. Take my new Fat Strat for example. Figured maple top, ebony fretboard, great pups (although the jury's still out on that 'bucker,) S-1 switching gives 10 different tones, locking tuners, roller nut, and it even has a 50th anniversary Strat commemmorative neckplate. All for right around the $1100 range. You can't really go wrong.
