WTB EMB Afterburner

Re: WTB EMB Afterburner

I have a Jackson Firestorm onboard gain booster, if that would work.

Re: WTB EMB Afterburner

I don't really know anything about it, to tell you the truth, except that it's designed for passive pickups. I found out it's made by Seymour Duncan and here's the blurb from his website:

The GEQ-1 Firestorm™ 20dB gain boost circuit for solid body electrics takes a standard looking axe and, with the flick of an innocent looking mini-toggle switch, turns it into a weapon of mass destruction.

Re: WTB EMB Afterburner

I took some pictures and posted them for you to see. I can't really confirm this is the Seymour Duncan product. It does have the initials SD on it, as you can see in the pictures. I believe it probably is. It was in a guitar when I bought it, it did work fine, and I was told by the owner of the shop it was the Firestorm system. I'd probably take $25 plus shipping for it. I'm looking for a Full Shred pickup (bridge) and also a Fernandes Sustainer System, so if you have either of those I have other stuff to trade or I could throw in some cash. Or I'd just take cash if you're not interested in trading. I gotta give donahue first crack at it.

Hmm, I don't know much about them either. So the toggle activates it, and the pot must be level? Does that sound correct?

Re: WTB EMB Afterburner

I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for it, cause from the stock photo, it looks like theres kind of a lot going on.

Re: WTB EMB Afterburner

I'm sure it's a fairly involved wiring job. The toggle activates it, but I don't know anymore than that. I pulled it out of the guitar it was in because the guitar was a tone dog. Turns out it had nothing to do with this piece of equipment, it was just a dead piece of wood.
