Hey.. I need to find afew good real/fake books. I checked out afew book stores and music stores in my city and seems theres nothing there. Im just wondering if anyone here has something, used lightly is alright as long as its not like totally covered in writing..

Would like a book in Guitar standard for a key, and something that has alot of Miles Davis / John Coltrane standards, as those are my favorites so far (all blues, countdown, giant steps, so what, etc) so something with all those and lots of Coltrane would be great.

Im just getting into jazz, so I dunno know much unfortunately yet.

dude, go to a guitar center or order a book called "The Real Book" It's technically the only "legal" fake book for jazz tunes out there, but there are a ton of illegal ones out there but they typically run about $75-$80 but this book is only about $20-$25 in guitar stores and it contains most of the tunes that were in the original fake book (including the ones that you mentioned) as well as some Wes Montgomery and others that are definitely tunes you should know.

The Real Book at Amazon.com

in terms of the "guitar center" thing. Re-read my post, First off im not in the US, theres no guitar centers here, and my "equivilants" dont carry any realbooks, from when I checked so far.

hence why I said order them :) most places can ship internationally. I didn't know you were not from the U.S. from your post nor does your location show up under your name. Seriously, as I said, a printed fake book costs a lot of money, but the real book (the legal one) is quite inexpensive comparitively.
