so...a custom 5?

No, a Custom 5 is sporting 43 AWG wire.

It more likely a Brobucker what Russsurf is looking for!

Re: WTB Overwound Duncan '59 B

I have one I just bought from Trev, which came from a German Custom Winder named D. Barfuss. Heres what its supposed to be( It was called a Lawford/ Hot Goldtop.. its Zebra);

" this pickup was a kind of guinea pig. David had just a Custom Humbucker without any limits in his program and was call Goldtop Humbucker. We just wanted to create a PAF style Humbucker at its limits. MJ at the Custom shop says she advised to go beyond 9-10k (Brobucker!). I said to David go as Seth Lover said 'until the bobbin is full'.
The first attempt was too dark but had this nice bark. Then David came up with that double thick A5 and it worked. Its a beefed up Paf with a nice top end. David had it in his programm for some time and recommended it for thin mahagony guitars like the SG. ...lesser and more fundimental mids than a C8."

I just realised after i bought it that I probably shouldnt really be spending anymore money, but I thought it was cool, and I that i might have a use for it someday. I'd be more inclined to give it up for something I wanted more i trade than to sell it for the same amount I just got it for.

I was the original owner of this pickup: The name is actually Gold Top / Lawhead. And there is a typo: MJ advised not to go beyond 9-10k with 42 AWG, but we came up with this double thick A5.
