WTT: Gibson 490R for DiMarzio Illuminator neck

Nickel covered Gibson 490R (Alnico 2) neck pickup for trade. Currently installed in my Les Paul as it is still in use. Full length single conductor lead (or pretty darn close to it as far as I know). Definitely more than enough for a few more installations.





Looking for a black (or nickel cover... NOT chrome) DiMarzio Illuminator neck model, regular spaced only.

Other trades I MIGHT consider at this time would be a DiMarzio LiquiFire, Air Norton, or Duncan Full Shred neck, black, regular spaced.

Shipping to ConUS only.

Would prefer that you ship me your trade first unless I already know you from the forum.

I've had good successful transactions with: JeffB, Andrew Lamprecht (twice), LobsterSausage, and dougiefresh.

The only reason I can't at the moment is because the pickups currently in my Les Paul are the only ones I have. I will need to have the guarantee of a new pickup very shortly after I remove the current one. That will put this guitar out of service for however long it takes.

I also wouldn't currently have cash to add onto whatever I get from this one in order to purchase the new one. I can't expect to sell this one for enough money to cover the cost of the next one. That would cause me to price this one unreasonably.

Otherwise, I would have no problem selling it outright. It's just not quite that simple for me at the moment.

You're going to have a heck of a time:

a) Finding someone here with an Illuminator neck pickup

b) Finding someone here with an Illuminator neck pickup who wants to trade for a 490R.

Could happen, but definitely a long shot and bumping the post every day isn't going to increase your odds...

I'm sorry, you guys. I realize it's probably not going to happen. I know I probably have much better odds just selling my pickup, which I may just have to do eventually. Just got my hopes up for a while, but I have to be realistic. Sorry for being obnoxious. At this point I would probably delete the post, but I can't.

There's always a chance someone will come along who is able/interested in such a trade, so I wouldn't completely delete your thread if I were you.

I would just wait a few days between bumps, that's all.

Of course, if you are in a hurry for an Illuminator, then selling the 490R outright is probably your best bet.
