wylde les paul?

Re: wylde les paul?

I've played both, and I prefer the edwards. Been thinkin about pickin one up for myself recently...they do make excellent guitars for the money.

Re: wylde les paul?

Several things...
IMO the signature Epis are a notch above as someone stated before. My Ace frehley is a very nice guitar. Then new Epis seem to be even better from the new plant.
I played a Zakk epi the other day and was impressed by its heavy solid feel and it played and sounded great. The neck was the fattest EPI LP neck Ive played. Jury still out on that, but I loved the natural feel. The pickups werent as bad as I expected after all the negative things Ive heard about the EMG Hzs. Id suggest installing a Zakk set of EMGS tho.
So, add that to the price that is kinda high in my book, that makes a rather expensive EPI.. Plus, I dont really care for the looks or the signature model thing..
I only got the ACe signature model because of the features. Black flame maple top looked cool and 3 super distortions.
But, If the Zakk look or signature model thing are your cup o tea, by all means, go for it!
I have not played an Edwards, but hear nothing but great things about them and my next axe will be a Edwards Sykes model. Again, not for the name, but Black with chrome and Duncan pickups!!
Good luck with your quest!!

Re: wylde les paul?

Ive onlt played the Epi Zakk les paul and like some others, the only complaint i have is the pick ups, I also suggest doing a pick up swap if you do pik up this one.
