Wymore Guitars closing

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

Yah that sucks - just started using Wymore since it was just recently I got back into playing and he gave me great service...enjoy your retirement!

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

What's it take to run a web shop like that?

I don't exactly have free time but I would love to run my own business.

Do we HAVE to close the shop John? I have a li'l room, enough to stock some guitar parts anyway...wanna like, hire me, or something? :smokin:

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I'm so sorry to hear this. I wish you the best of luck in your future plans bro. :friday:

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I guess I'll have to figure out some way to pick up the pieces and move on. I'll summon all my mental faculties and will the raw elements to rise from the Earth and form humbucker magnets before my eyes. I've gotta do something; I mean, those A2's aren't gonna get in those 59's all by themselves.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

oh yea in my rush to find a new supplier
I forgot

Best Wishes in your retirement, John

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

Even though I feel ok for John to retire. for us forumites this is a disaster! We lost not only one of the best Duncan dealers there are, we also lost one of the absolute kindest persons to deal with while doing business.

John, you'll be sorely missed; may you enjoy that side of Las Vegas pool with in health.

Yours very truly,

I'm sure John's a savvy-enough businessman that the "bigger and better things" will provide him with income without the headaches of the daily grind involved in running the show. Perhaps he's already got someone he's passing the reigns to, and they're either a partnership or using their own name?

Only J.W. knows.

One door closes, another opens.

Then likely he would not be liquidating his stock- it would be involved in the business transfer.

The one time I had a question for John, he was quick with the answers for me- I did not end up ordering anything from him because the added cost of what I wanted was not feasible at the time (would have to go SD custom shop) , but I'll be sure to pick up (pun intended) a thing or three from him once the liquidation starts.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

Yep, I ordered some stuff from Wymore- probably not too much- somewhere around 100.00 total over the years, but I have nothing but good things to say about him.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for the closeout sale.. I need a few specific pickups.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I'm really depressed now... From recommendations from this forum, I had finally found a great place to buy all my parts for my various guitar projects. Being from Canada (Even if it's right next to the US), it's really hard to find quality parts at a reasonable price and even harder to find someone to ship internationally at a fair price. And the customer service was second to none! Wymore was the only online shop I know that you could send a e-mail to explain your situation and what you were after and they would make it happen. I wish him all the best in the future and a relaxing retirement, he deserves it. I'll try to stock up a bit when they liquidate, hopefully I'll be able to get my hands a few choice parts for one of my future projects...

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I saw that earlier today, it really sucks. The thing I loved best about Wymore is that they always had cheap shipping to Canada. Usually only $4-5 depending on the item, where most other places charge $10-15 for shipping (which is a ripoff for snail mail). Looks like I'll have to find a new favourite place to buy guitar stuff.

You said it man, awsome place! I had just ordered all my 6 magnets from them because of thier awsome shipping to canada, and now just seen this post.

I scincerely hope he isn't closing shop due to bad ecconomy or hard times with his biz, because myself being a very successfull internet marketer I would have helped him get his site rocking for nothing, just to help the community out, as it seems everyone here either knows about him or finds out about him through SD. INternet Biz is thriving and there should be no immeadiate reason to shut down if he got the right help.

But as thier mail said maby he really is moving on to bigger and better things, I have a friend that owns an auto parts store right by my house, and he's making great money, but he's had enough and just waiting for his lease contract to end. So could be Jhon has just had enough.

Either way it's sad, because he had such an excellent little store.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

I'm sorry to hear this. I've dealt with Wymore and it's been perfect every time. I wish John all the best.

Anyone (especially in the UK) looking for magnets can check this place out. I've never dealt with them before so I can't vouch for their service and/or products and prices but it's another option.

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

Hey guy's .... Just wanted to jump in and give a quick update. I am currently still working on getting inventory accurate on the website and taking any items out of my shopping carts that I no longer have stock of.

I am still figuring out exactly how I will do the liquidation but likely I will have a discount coupon available that I can e-mail out to those who request it. I have to be a little bit careful how I do this to avoid any issues with MAP pricing.

I hope to have the website back online in the next day or two. I do have a list of my current SD inventory available to those that might want to see what I still have available in stock. You can request this list via e-mail at: john@wymoreguitars.com

Thanks!!

Re: Wymore Guitars closing

You guys remember Blackrose Customs? Didn't Wymore come from that company?

Yes, in a round about sort of way .... I actually sold Black Rose Customs to another guy who pretty much failed. I ended up buying back a lot of the inventory when I started Wymore Guitars.
