As far as what to go with, it really depends on if you're wanting any "flavor" with the boost, or wanting a pure "clean" boost?

When it comes down to it, I don't mind a little "flavor" but I suppose that will vary a lot from pedal to pedal. If I go with a clean boost I can just leave it on all the time though which would be nice.

The more I look at something like the RC booster, the more I like the Idea of having the additional EQ knobs on there just incase I ever want or need them.

Not for nothing but I use a Bogner Shiva and a TS9 with 0 gain and tone & volume adjusted to give me just a touch more volume & sustain. Works really really well.
