Yam Pacifica Mod Job

Hi Guys,

I've been wanting to mod a cheap guitar for a while, but as I didn't want to open up my 70's USA Strat, I never gave it much thought.... Until today I saw a Yamaha Pacifica 112v in a charity shop for £10 - and in pretty much new condition!

So, I don't want to replace parts that don't need replacing or, for example, buy a worst trem block than the one the guitar ships with, so this is what I'm going for so far;

http://www.stewmac.com/Pickups_and_Electronics/Wiring_Kits/Premium_Wiring_Kit_for_Telecaster.html - Will the Pacifica 112v control knobs fit this kit?

And I want to upgrade the trem block, is there something good I can get for under £50? Or at that budget should I just stick to the block in there already?

For example would this fit the current tremolo system and would it make a difference? http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-American-Vintage-Stratocaster-Bridge-Block/XNJ

At some point when I can afford it I want to put Fender Custom Shop '54 pick ups in it, but for now Im just gonna stick with the HSS pickups it comes with until I save up.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Something to consider: Yammy has their own bridge specs. The string spacing on it's trem and fixed bridge is narrower than what's widely available in the market. It has narrow nut too. I have no idea about Wilkinson trem specs that's available on it's premium Pacifica, whether it's a custom order or not.

You may want to check with a company named UK Northwest Guitars. They hooked me up with several parts for my Pacificas. Can't help you with the trem question because I block mine off using a 9 volt battery. Perfect fit and more mass haha.
