Yamaha (or similar) nylon string Silent Guitars

Anyone played/owned one of those Yamaha Silent Guitars or some other kind of acoustic electric semi hollow or solid body guitars?

Looking to get another nylon string since my first guitar (cheap Yamaha classical) is not really worth looking to put a piezo in. Eventually I'd like to get one of those Chet Atkins Gibsons but until then something like the Yamaha seems like something to tide me over in the meantime.

Any info/reviews would be appreciated.

For inexpensive classicals, Yamaha still rules the roost. Cordoba has some nice ones as well. If you need the electric capability, it's best to buy it built in, otherwise you'll spend a lot. I still think a regular classical with piezo is the way to go. Something is lost in tone when you buy a solid body that has pickup modeling built in.

Yamaha builds a bad to the bone thin line classical with a piezo and mic. It has a solidcedar top, lam rosewood back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard. The neck is also more electric guitarist friendly than a regular classical and it runs in the $600 range. I forget what model it is, but I played one recently at Guitar Satan and almost brought it home.

CGX-171. I have one and it RULES! That was gonna be my recommendation. Plays well, sounds great acoustic & electric. That mic/piezo combo is tough to beat....might be 7bills
