Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

Absolutely no question! Do the deal before it disappears!!!

That guitar is worth way more than the amp. Plus you'll get something that you can actually use instead of a useless amp that just sits around gathering dust.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

Sure enough It played pretty good and neck and frets in good condition :biglaugh:

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

That doesn't look like any 721 that I have seen. It looks more like the 812 model to me. I also echo the comments, make the trade!

What a nice looking guitar!

Thanks cole, I'm not sure what model it is, have been trying to figure that out, it actually is routed for 2 humbuckers and 1 single so it would be something like 721 or 821. Looking at the front of the guitar it looks closer to the pics I was seeing of the 821, but the 821s don't seem to have the two steel plates joining the pairs of nek bolt, the 721s do have these plates, any thoughts on that? All I could tell from the serial number is that it was produced in April of the 7th year of a decade, which would make it likely 1997 as Yamaha didn't seem to make guitars in that style for a good number of years.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

I wouldn't worry what model it is, you luck'd out. Great guitars, enjoy that beauty.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

So I was looking around and it looks like the model that fits it mostly is the Pacifica 821D, however they didn't seem to have the sculpted contour at the neck joint. Regardless of what model it is, I LOVE this guitar. The black EMGs look great against the grain of the top. I would love to have this in my collection! I would look good next to 6 other Yamaha guitars haha!

Congrats on a bad ass guitar!

EDIT: Alright I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you got a Pacifica 821D. NICE!!!
Here is a reference to an ad selling one that shows the contour of the neck joint... http://www.adverts.ie/electric-guitars/yamaha-pacifica-821d-floyd-rose/1625477

You totally won on this trade!

This - whatever it is it must be awesome.

Now get that EMG crap out of there and put some Duncans in it!

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

After a bit more playing it after getting it back home i've noticed it doesen't like to stay in tune after bends or after any sort of whammy use, I have to pull the whammy up slightly to get the strings back in tune, frets could probably do with a levelling though too so I might drop it down the the luthier I use for my guitars and get him to sort it out.
I Might hang onto the EMGs for now and see what they're like into the amp for a few weeks after I get it playing nice :)

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

Congrats dude Yamaha makes good guitars. Years back I was such a brand snob, I let go a very nice Pacifica. I still have not seen that same model.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars

I have a very low end Pacifica that plays and sounds absolutely great (after pup swaps, of course). That guitar is stunning. Congrats. You made a really good trade.

Re: Yamaha Pacifica Guitars
