Do any if you guys have one of the newer Yamaha SG2000 guitars? I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some info on the DC resistance of the bridge pickup. Thanks!

Re: Yamaha SG2000

Haven't seen the most recent incarnation. On the old 1000, 2000 and 3000 models, the same pickup was used for both positions (just like a vintage Gibson).

One other possible issue that will affect apparent output and noise-cancellation, push-push coil split switching built into the Tone control pots.

Re: Yamaha SG2000

I tried one of the newer Yamaha SGs a little while ago and was a little disappointed. While it was superbly put together and had some great switching options, it felt 'plasticy' and stiff to me. I played an '82 SG 1300T recently, as well as one of d1dsj's SG 3000s last week and it was night and day. The older ones just felt more resonant and alive. Personally I would go for one of the original 70s/80s ones, but I suggest trying one as you might find a 'magic' one.
