thanks for the info! I REALLY like the idea of a thick SG. all the Gibsons are too thin, i feel like I'm going to break it in half every time i play one. Actually, ive been looking for a nice solid body style for my next build. I've got some african mahogany in good shape, and thanks to this topic, ive found my next guitarhaha im stoked to get this project going.

Yeah I know what you mean. I spoke to Tim (onwer of BKP here in the UK) who had Pages #1 in and he said it was weighing around 7.5ib now as it's drying out after half a century. Had you kept your old heavy guitars you may have been ok when you are 150 years old! :naughty:
