Nice colour on those guitars.
Some years ago I had the opportunity to play a 1981 SG-2000. It was a tobacco sunburst model with a brass sustain block under the bridge and all the usual bits. Barely used too - still had plastic on the rear control covers, apparently the previous owner had it under his bed, you know the story

. The only "complaint" one could have against it was its weight, but the advantages far outweigh such a thing. A really good alternative to a Les Paul, I'd certainly go for one.
The only thing I wish Yamaha offer/offered is a bare-bones variant of the 2000, without the gold hardware, binding, inlays, etc. (though a black SG-1000 looks very classy). I'd also ditch the scratch plate, though I'm aware some came without one, and have a side-mounted jack.
