Ye Olde Pedal-Order Thread

Getting ready to re-do my pedalboard. The pedals in this version will be:

Boss CE-2 Chorus
Boss BF-2 Flanger
Boss DD-3 Delay
Boss TR-2 Tremolo
Rocktron Short Timer Delay
Xotic BB Preamp
Phaser - (either a recent block logo Phase 90 or a BYOC true-bypass script-logo clone)

All this driving a DIY 18-Watter clone.

Here's the thing: The BB Preamp is replacing my modded Boss SD-1, but the BB is true-bypass. Keep in mind I'm a desciple of Pete Cornish on the T.B. issue - to me, TB isn't the be-all and end-all, and few good buffers in the chain can be a good thing.

But... the SD-1 is first in line right now, giving me a buffer right off the bat. With the BB first, I lose the buffer.

So, what are your suggestions on pedal order and why?

Re: Ye Olde Pedal-Order Thread

Me...I'd go:

BB->Phaser->CE2->BF2->TR2->Short Timer->DD3

Here is the deal with buffers...as long as you have one at the end no biggie...you'd be just more than fine!

Re: Ye Olde Pedal-Order Thread

I'd put 'em all on the ground off the board & start plugging away until you find an order that YOU like...

Delay before or after trem? Who knows... since you have two delays... maybe both? Some modulation pedals sound better before distortion, some after... depends on what you'd like to achieve. It's all about personal preference.
