Looking for Real Life
well, lemme start off by saying this thing is friggin sweet, real purdy, feels niiice, but yeah, want new pickups
I'm definately going for a hotrail in the bridge, and for neck i was thinkin vintage mini hum, any idea what the mid position on this'll sound like? I'm kinda goin for like a mean @$$ bridge, PAFey kinda middle position (really rock & roll), and a real bluesy (john mayer a la crossroads, but a bit more 'buckerish, real warm & gritty) tone. Would this do it? I wanna scrap the middle pickup so only 2 sets of magnets are pulling down on the strings
also, with the rails, will i have more bass response than with my blackout with the '59?
reason i ask is, I'm using misfits strings (11-52) on the blackout, which are hard as crap to find, and about $8 a set, and on these I'd rather go with some d'addario 10-48 nickelwounds, cuz they're cheap & bend easier, but i don't wanna lose any bass response, i want TIGHTER bass than on the blackout, but not LESS bass
