YES! The Volume Crank Worked!!!

Re: YES! The Volume Crank Worked!!!

What? they actually bust your balls if you experiment with non-mesa tubes? :bsflag: Its like fender not honoring warranty on their tone pots unless you use fender bullets strings. If it is true then mesa begins to make the same mistakes Marshall did decades ago. I didnt say thin, I said glossy and complex.

Actually the mesa rep said thats true but just on the power tubes.

Re: YES! The Volume Crank Worked!!!

actually, considering that i only paid $1400 for the jvm new anyway, i won't be losing anything. by the time i sell it and go back to mesa, i'll have $500 left over for recording gear that i need. seems like a pretty good plan to me

or bundling. Discontinue V-twin and pull Microsoft BS on the tube issue. Great idea mesa, you've just became new marshall as your consumer friendliness goes.

Re: YES! The Volume Crank Worked!!!

Well i'm glad my dual rec is history. All the good bands who used to use 'em got better endorsements recentely, and said goodbye to their mesa's. Not that thats saying anything, but i'm seeing a trend here.

Re: YES! The Volume Crank Worked!!!

congrats bro, I'm glad it finally worked out for you.

yeah, marshalls need to be cranked, thats why I'm hoping they make a 50 watt JVM. my 60 watt TSL needs to be past 12:00 before it even start to cook. 1:00 is where the tone zone begins... Your Marshall is probably the same, only LOUDER!

Experiment and play, and find that sweet spot. Once you do, you're in tone heaven.

actually the tone improves greatly just going up to about 10 o'clock which is super friggin loud anyway. i found that the louder it is the less gain i need. now i understand what they mean by tube saturation i think. once you get it cooking, you don't need so much gain or it gets raspy. thanks man, i appreciate your help.
