I am in the process of making a partscaster from a Fender Ultra Luxe Floyd rose body and an 80s Squier MIK neck with floyd nut.
I am going HSH on this. I have an idea so let me discuss it and fill me in on some things im missing:
Pickups:
Bridge-Seymour Duncan Hyperion
Middle-Seymour Duncan SSL-1 (I ordered a RWRP, but do i need it?)
Neck-Seymour Duncan 59 4 conductor version (older long-leg version)
2 Pots-500k Volume, TBX tone 250k/1mg OR 500k/1mg if available)
5 way pickup selector
Ok let me discuss my ideas and some issues im having:
The neck Duncan has long legs and im having issues with clearance in the route. will cutting the screws down help or will i have to route the body a bit? I dont mind routing it since its a partscaster.
As for the 2-pot system, i want to have full 500k for the humbuckers and a 250k for the middle. My idea is to use a TBX tone pot, either a 250k/1mg or 250k/500k version.
Any suggestions? changes?
