You guise ever notice...

On some of these gear test videos that dudes will often fiddle with knobs without playing through the device? They'll stop playing, turn a knob, then turn the same one again as if to fine-tune it without hearing how the first turn even sounded. Next time I find an example I'll put it here.

Conclusion - we really just like turning knobs.

Re: You guise ever notice...

My favorite gear test is the Zvex Box of Rock that's tested through a real JTM45. Which is great cause I like that sound, but that is what it's designed to sound like. And there's no reference to how it sounds in a different amp. Like a Hot Rod Deville. Something most people would own. Yes, it sounds great in any amp. It left a question, how close will it make a Peavey Bandit sound like a JTM?(Question is not based on reality, I chose a random solid state amp that the average person may own. Or at least at some point in there lives.)

Re: You guise ever notice...

I do hate the gear demo videos where the guy talks for 10 minutes before ever playing a note.

It's like they're trying really hard to let us know how knowledgeable they are about gear and such so they have to go on and on talking about NOS tubes and germanium chips and crap like that.

I'm always like "IDGAF! WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE??"
