I assembled this strat from a mid 90's reverse metallic silverburst body, and used all the parts from a 2004 50th Anniversary American strat. I got lucky because the guitar is light, resonant, and sounds big. It's got Fender Fat 50's in it, which sound great, but I may audition some other strat pickups in it, like the new Duncan Pro Stacks.
And Alvin Lee Fan.....Chubtone pickups are superb. They're the same quality as $240 pickups, yet he still sells them for $160 per set. His 63's nail the SRV/Mayer sound.
Here's it's twin. Both these bodies only came on 90's Strat Plusses, so these 2 guitars are the only reverse metallic American Series Strats. Any other in these colors has a big metal nut, and is a Strat Plus.
