Your amp wish list?

Re: Your amp wish list?

I have so many great Mesa amps already. There are a couple more I'd get if I found a good deal, but I'm running out of room. A few years ago I had a chance to get a used Mesa Heartbreaker in a natural finished premium quilted maple cab, and really regret not getting it. I've always wanted a Tremoverb, a Road King II, a Stiletto Ace and a RA100 Royal Atlantic. I've passed on most of those at one time or another, simply because they are so big and heavy that I can't lift them into the car!

I will always have a fondness for BF and Tweed Fenders, and Music Man amps. How about a SF Dual Showman Reverb with a matching 215 JBL cab? One of the best amps I've ever played.

And I like Marshalls too. I wouldn't mind a DSL 50 half stack, a JTM 45, a Vintage Modern, or a JCM 800 stack...in custom red or purple vinyl.

One thing that is perhaps obtainable, though still less than practical, would be finding a matching 412 Mesa Half-Back BOTTOM cab, to go with the top cabs I have. The bottom cabs are pretty rare, and finding a deal on one in good condition darn near impossible.

None of these are really practical AT ALL! And even if I had them, I doubt I would ever take them out--the Mesa's I have just fit my styles so well. I am blessed with some great gear.

But it is nice to dream....

I want your Model T. Send it to me immediatly or I'll make your life a living hell.

SUNN Model T amps are dangerous weapons. With the right speakers, you can not only create mayhem, but literally pulverize the ears and innards of your audience.

Those warnings on amps about high decibels causing damage? That came about because of the Model T!

See a Model T on stage...RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!! :)

Re: Your amp wish list?

Got enough amps already..

....BUT :laugh2:

I love the sound of this one :bigthumb:

Re: Your amp wish list?

a brown fender deluxe and trainwreck express come to mind. i expect ill eventually get or build a 6g3 and am 75% done with an express type amp but real ones of both would be nice :D

Re: Your amp wish list?

I've always wanted a Mesa Single Rectifier Rect-o-verb combo ...

I'll settle for a Mini Rectifier head.

Though, I've been in the British realm of tone recently and I may need to stick with Orange Dark something or other.

The rectoverb combo with the str447 mesa-tubes and a c90 speaker actually does sound kind-of hot-rodded british IMO.
That new triple crown might do it much better though.

Re: Your amp wish list?

For anyone who thinks they want an evh 5153 or an engl fireball, you probably don't. I've played both and they suck imho

I like amplifiers because other people hate them.

Re: Your amp wish list?

I want a Yamaha THR50 with switchable .5/10/25/50 watt selection, maybe (2)10" FRFR speakers with a 5 channel/preset selectable footswitch.I want to be able to pick my 5 (minimum)models mix/match from any/all three versions of the THR10'S. That way you could pick a couple from the "X", a couple from the original beige THR and maybe one from the "C". I want it to weigh 30lbs or less and I want it for $500-$600. Not asking much...right?

Of course it would have, at a minimum, all of the features of the current THR10 lineup.

Re: Your amp wish list?

In order of WANT -not reality of getting:

Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18 - the blue light
Marshall DSL 40C - For the clean channel. Seriously.
Marshall JCM900 SL-X head - THIS is my sound
Peavy 5150 Combo - Because THAT sound.
Yamaha GA100-2x12 combo - In case of 80's synth Pop resurgence
Peavey Classic 30 in Tweed - Way cooler than Blues Jr.
Peavey Studio Pro (circa 1990's early Transtube) - reliving the past. My favorite solid state amp
Roland Micro Cube in Red - because they are small, flexible, sound awesome, and that Orianthi video

Re: Your amp wish list?

Been getting that Spidervalve dialed in. My GASS for another amp has noticeably diminished.
Maybe a Rivera Knucklehead?
