Your dream rig today

Re: Your dream rig today

A POD..... Only in my dream it sounds good for live work. In my dream I also don't have tendinitis from lugging my own rig everywhere I play :)

Not an exact signal path, but just what you wanna try really bad lately. Here is mine
A switching system(Hello Mr.Cornish) that will enable me to switch back and fourth between 3 amps that two at a time ran stereo in to one 4X12. My Laney AOR, Laney Supergroup, and a modded Laney for high gain soldanish tone pre-amp. I think I would keep the "mutant" of laney and soldano all the time and switch back and fourth between Supergroup and AOR. Ideally a top quality aged baltic birch plywood cab with 4 V30s. The mutant would be cranked naturally while AOR and Supergroup would have a pallet of drives in fron of them Spina's TS9 of course, BSM treble booster(prolly Blackmore's version) a Baeno boost from analogman. After that I would have some flange FL9 Ibanez, my current chorus - Ibanez CS9, a Foxrox octave (cheers whahwah) with echoplex as the last thing before amps.

Re: Your dream rig today

Boss GT-PRO and RC200 Roland MIDI footswitch, though I'd set it up without amp modelling and in a way so that I am turning on and off individual stomp boxes, sort of. With 15 stomps, I can also use it to pick amps. Then I'd get a Fender Deluxe Reverb and Marshall combo just like what SD used for the majority of the pickup sound clips, plus a Vox AC30, so that I'd have "one of each of the big three", if you know what I mean.

I'd also set up the GT-PRO/RC200 config so that I could also go to "memory" mode and have one stomp per song. I'd have my RC200 laser engraved so that I could always see which stomp is which, with blue LED back-lighting if necessary.

Then guitars, I'd have my Lite Ash Stratocaster, my Showmaster, the Slash signature Les Paul (not the one with the piezo), the Gilmour Strat, the SRV strat, the Mayer strat, the Seymour Duncan esquire, a "Police" Telecaster, and a TVL signature (but with Duncan pickups). I'd also have a "Homme" signature lol.

Re: Your dream rig today

The (in)famous,Caswell-modded Marshall....and an LP....needn't be anymore complicated than that.

Re: Your dream rig today

Question for you -- and this is just me playing devil's advocate:

If your dream rig includes a '62 Hot Rod Strat and a '52 Hot Rod Tele, couldn't you sell some of your other guitars to finance these two?

- Keith

Yeah, I've pondered the idea of selling off 3 or 4 of my strats/tele/G&L so I could go on the bay and grab a green 62 strat and butterscotch 52 Hot Rod.

The problem is those strats I have play and sound great, and I like the colors, so I can't part with them. I'm just dreaming out loud. I really don't need to buy anything. I'm happy as it is. I still wish I had that Tone King Meteor II combo though....incredible clean tone.

Re: Your dream rig today

I've changed my mind ... this is what I really want ...
I would have three half stacks:
Laney Super Group/Komet
Laney Super Group/AOR
Laney SUper gruop/Laney mutant for soldanish typa a gain.
Each half stack is ran stereo with echoplex infront of each and before split by my ibanez CS9 chorus. Each cab would be a top quality aged baltic birch plywood cab with 4 V30s
